My dear heavenly Papa, I come to you on behalf of organized crime. Drug dealers and gangs are targeting the trafficking of people, because it is so lucrative for them. A person can be used over and over on a daily basis, a bag of pot…only once.
Gangs are called organized crime because they are a group of individuals who commit themselves to one another for the purposes of protection and identity. Many young people from impoverished neighborhoods join gangs in order to protect themselves from other gangs. Young children are often drawn to the money, power, and prestige they believe to come from this lifestyle. Teenagers without a functional family unit may be drawn to it to find a sense of belonging. Many young men attracted to gangs do not have fathers involved in their lives, so the male gang leaders become their role models. Due to unmet emotional needs, these children and young adults are extremely vulnerable to the evil intentions of the leaders, and many become hardened criminals before they have lived two decades. I call an end to this type of activity. Lord, I ask you to work on behalf of this nation’s youth, that parents will take the role of protectors and providers so that the young do not have to look in false places to feel their worth and find what they believe they are looking for.
Jesus, I pray about the gang life known as the Mafia. There is a false sense of family that pervades these organizations. People involved stay committed to the gang due to loyalty or fear of what may happen if they leave. The Mafia, which originated in Sicily and gravitated to Italy and then the United States, is a ruthless gang of international criminals involved in high levels of corruption, terror, and illicit activities. The Mafia was organized in the United States as a response to Prohibition in the 1920s. What began as illegal alcohol production and distribution quickly morphed into illicit, underground businesses of every kind. I pray against the root of this criminal activity and call it null and void to the current day activities. I specifically target sex trafficking as a viable way for them to make tons of money. I ask for those with Italian bloodlines to be given the gift of repentance from any involvement their forefathers may have had. Lord, I ask forgiveness for any of my ancestors who may be involved in Prohibition and other illegal activities that may have opened the door to criminal activity. I say that bloodlines be cleansed and bring healing where evil used to flow!
